Everyone talks about the views of Waimea Canyon, but often MISSED is the most jawbreaking view on this trip.

Sunday, we took a drive to see one of the most visited sites on Kauai, Waimea Canyon. It’s truly beautiful and on most top 10 things to do while visiting Kauai.

What many don’t know and end up missing on this excursion is the most spectacular view on the island, and it is seen on this drive to Waimea.

It’s not because you drive right by it – that would be impossible. It’s because you don’t drive far enough!

In this episode, we talk about our Sunday drive to the Grand Canyon of the Pacific and share the information on this must see view, Pu’u o Kila Lookout, just a short way farther up the road!

Highlights:

* Directions to the Pu’u o Kila Lookout

* Recommendations for the best pictures of the Canyon

* Our tips for your drive

* And the sounds of Kauai from our lanai! The Nene, Hawaii’s state bird and the world’s rarest geese, makes an appearance, or shall I say a call at the 9:50 mark. Listen for them. Also heard are the chicken crows, cardinals, and sparrows …

Here’s the picture we promised:
